Biografía
Ruth Caudeli nace en Valencia, España. Es directora, guionista y productora queer. Ha escrito y dirigido los largometrajes '¿Cómo te llamas?' (2018), 'Segunda estrella a la derecha' (2019), 'Leading Ladies' (2021, mención especial del jurado en Zonazine Málaga a todo su reparto) y “Petit mal” (2022), estrenado en el festival de cine de Tribeca en Nueva York. Sus películas se han estrenado también en otros festivales internacionales como Festival de cine de Málaga, Festival Internacional de Cine de Palm Springs, Outfest Los Ángeles o Frameline; además de ser candidatas al Premio Sebastiane Latino del Festival de San Sebastián, los Premios Platino y Macondo de la Academia de Cine Colombiana, en diferentes categorías. Ha dirigido varios cortometrajes, entre ellos 'Late' (2010), 'Porque no' (2016), 'Entre Paredes' (2017), 'EVA menos CANDELA' (2018) y 'Adéu/Adiós' (2020), que también fueron seleccionados y premiados en diversos festivales internacionales. Para televisión, ha dirigido la serie 'Natalia: Crimen y Castigo', ganadora del Premio India Catalina 2021 a la mejor miniserie, la segunda unidad de la serie 'Pálpito' para Netflix y la miniserie ‘Rosa al amanecer’. Su serie web 'Actrices' fue nominada a los Premios India Catalina 2021, así como la serie web que codirigió, ‘Virales’. En 2019, Indiewire la nombró ‘una de las directoras LGBTQ a tener en la mira’. Ha dirigido comerciales para reconocidas marcas en la productora Ovella Blava Films y es profesora de cine y televisión. Se encuentra en post producción de su próximo largometrajes, 'La Misma Estación". Está en desarrollo de varias series de ficción. Sus producciones se destacan por contar historias que ponen a la mujer queer real en el centro de sus narrativas. Tiene un máster en dirección cinematográfica por la ESCAC y otro en ficción para televisión por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Estudió comunicación audiovisual en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, donde obtuvo el premio de final de carrera.

Ruth Caudeli was born in Valencia, Spain. She is a queer director, screenwriter and producer. She has written and directed the feature films 'Eva+Candela' (2018), 'Second star on the right' (2019), 'Leading Ladies' (2021, special mention of the jury in Zonazine Málaga to the entire cast) and “Petit mal” (2022), premiered at the Tribeca film festival in New York. Her films have also premiered at other international festivals such as the Málaga Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Outfest Los Angeles and Frameline; in addition to being candidates for the Sebastiane Latino Award at the San Sebastian Festival, the Platino and Macondo Awards of the Colombian Film Academy, in different categories. She has directed several short films, including 'Late' (2010), 'Porque no' (2016), 'Between walls' (2017), 'EVA menos CANDELA' (2018) and 'Screenshots for a goodbye' (2020), which also were selected and awarded at various international festivals. For television, she has directed the tv series 'Natalia: Crimen y castigo', winner of the 2021 India Catalina Award for best miniseries, the second unit of the series 'Pálpito' for Netflix and the miniseries 'Rosa al amanecer'. Her web series 'Actrices' was nominated for the India Catalina Awards 2021, as well as the web series she co-directed, 'Virales'. In 2019, Indiewire named her "one of the LGBTQ female directors on the rise." She has directed commercials for well-known brands at the production company Ovella Blava Films and is a professor of film and television. She is in pre-production for her next feature films, 'La misma estación', 'La Campana' and her first documentary project 'Mírame'. She is developing several fiction tv series. Her productions stand out for telling stories that put real queer women at the center of their narratives. She has a master's degree in film directing from ESCAC and another in fiction for television from Pompeu Fabra University. She studied audiovisual communication at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where she obtained the end-of-course award.
